MVA – Motor Vehicle Accident
Impacts during auto accidents can cause soft tissue injuries that can be slow to heal and misalignment of the spinal vertebrae that can cause ongoing discomfort.
Chiropractic Care can provide a variety of treatments for injuries to the muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the body, such as therapeutic exercise, massage therapy and lifestyle advice to prevent further injury as you complete the healing process.
DVA – Department of Veterans Affairs
Chiropractic services help to manage conditions of the spine and musculoskeletal system. They aim to restore mobility and alleviate pain and muscle tightness.
Who can receive it?
You may be able to receive chiropractic services if you have
an assessed clinical need and a:
- Veteran Gold Card; or
- Veteran White Card and your treatment is for an accepted service-related condition
How do I access it?
First, get a referral to a chiropractor covered by the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) from:
- your general practitioner (GP)
- a medical specialist
- your treating doctor in hospital
- a hospital discharge planner
Note: let your doctor know if you would like to see a specific chiropractor (or our practice) or they may send you to their preferred allied health professionals.
Second, Contact your chiropractor to make an appointment. Confirm they will accept your Gold Card or White Card for their services.
EPC – Enhanced Primary Care Plan
(Also known as bulk billing or Team Care Arrangement (TCA)
What is it?
EPC plan is a Medicare program designed to encourage a multi-disciplinary approach to chronic conditions that are likely to have lasted six months or more. This is because chronic conditions are often complex and require a thorough approach to ongoing care.
Note: you only have access to 5 appointments per calendar year for ALL allied health appointments (e.g. podiatrist, physiotherapy, chiropractic, etc.)
How do I access it?
- Get a referral to a chiropractor from your General Practitioner (GP).
- Get GP to email it to our practice
- We will contact you when we have received it to book an appointment
- Each appointment you will sign a benefit claiming form to give us the ability to submit the claim on your behalf. You will have $0 out of pocket cost
